World Map 1708
This French 1708 world map was called 'Geo-Hydrographique' for presenting the two hemispheres in a manner that describes both the terrestrial and aquatic globe. It shows the Empires, Monarchies, Kingdoms, Republics, and States. It was created by the Sr. Sanson, cartographer of the Sun King Louis XIV, based on observations from the academy of sciences, and presented to the Dauphin, son and heir of Louis XIV.
Our reproductions are handmade in our Los Angeles studio, using only high resolution files printed on archival cotton weave canvas. They are twice varnished with a Polymer gloss that ensures UV protection and enhances the colors. Decorative wood is assembled on the top and bottom, with two eye-hooks mounted on the top piece. We also supply a jute rope that can be attached between the two eye-hooks to give the map that old pull down map feel.
This canvas map is available in multiple sizes which you can select from the drop down menu when ordering. Check out the different sizes placed in a room added to our listing photos!
