Map of Liverpool 1836
This map of Liverpool was originally published by the Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge as part of a two volumes educational set. The city plan is particularly interesting for its two vignettes, one showing Liverpool in the year 1650, and the other the Black Rock Lighthouse. The bottom of the map shows a detailed depiction of the facades of the city's 15 principal buildings.
Our reproductions are handmade in our Los Angeles studio, using only high resolution files printed on archival cotton weave canvas. They are twice varnished with a Polymer gloss that ensures UV protection and enhances the colors. Decorative wood is assembled on the top and bottom, with two eye-hooks mounted on the top piece. We also supply a jute rope that can be attached between the two eye-hooks to give the map that old pull down map feel.
During the restoration process, we pay great attention to matching the colors to the original maps. Please note that your computer screen might display slightly different colors than our professionally calibrated monitors.
