Map of France - 1851

This engraved map of France shows the various departments outlined in colors, as well as local sites such as the Calais Harbour and the Palace of Fontainebleau. The map is surrounded by a decorative leafy border.
Originally part of 'The Illustrated Atlas, And Modern History Of The World Geographical, Political, Commercial & Statistical', published by J. & F. Tallis, New York.

Our reproductions are handmade in our Los Angeles studio, using only high resolution files printed on archival cotton weave canvas. They are twice varnished with a Polymer gloss that ensures UV protection and enhances the colors. Decorative wood is assembled on the top and bottom, with two eye-hooks mounted on the top piece. We also supply a jute rope that can be attached between the two eye-hooks to give the map that old pull down map feel.

During the restoration process, we pay great attention to matching the colors to the original maps. Please note that your computer screen might display slightly different colors than our professionally calibrated monitors.
