Map of Alaska – 1959
This 1959 color pictorial map of Alaska, the 49th State by Dudley Chase is lavishly illustrated with vignettes of structures, activities, animals and lists of features and points of interest such as churches, post offices and mining sites. Relief is represented pictorially. The title of the map is framed by two traditional totems poles.
Our reproductions are handmade in our Los Angeles studio, using only high resolution files printed on archival cotton weave canvas. They are twice varnished with a Polymer gloss that ensures UV protection and enhances the colors. Decorative wood is assembled on the top and bottom, with two eye-hooks mounted on the top piece. We also supply a jute rope that can be attached between the two eye-hooks to give the map that old pull down map feel.
During the restoration process, we pay great attention to matching the colors to the original maps. Please note that your computer screen might display slightly different colors than our professionally calibrated monitors.
