Madrid Map 1656

This topographic plan of Madrid was originally published in 1656 by Pedro Teixeira Albernaz a Portuguese cartographer who worked commissioned by Philip IV. Composed of 20 sheets, it formed an impressive mural representing 18 churches, 55 convents and 14 hospitals and religious schools. The map shows streets, houses, major buildings, parishes, convents, hospitals. Relief shown pictorially. Includes index of parishes, convents, hospitals, fountains, ponds, etc.
