This 1935 color pictorial map of Italy and Vatican city by Dudley Chase is filled with drawings of historical sites and landmarks, cities, towns, even a decorative sea monsters to the bottom and an elaborate compass rose to the top right. Vignettes in the margins show various points of interest such as towns, bridges, churches and castles. Relief is represented pictorially. The title of the map is framed by a beautiful decorative cartouche.
